23 September 2022 – Over 111 participants comprising of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Alumni and Progresif Staff, and members of the public took part in a cleaning campaign at Muara Beach today, 23rd September 2022.

This beach clean-up is one of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei’s “Adopt-A-Beach” campaign, a community effort aimed at empowering individuals of all ages to participate in the conservation of the marine environment as well as committing to ensure the cleanliness of Muara Beach for 1-year through a series of quarterly beach clean-ups.

The third Adopt-A-Beach campaign was a joint effort between Shell LiveWIRE Brunei and Progresif Sdn Bhd, which collected more than 241kg of garbage and disposed with support from The Department Environment Parks and Recreation (JASTRE), Ministry of Development and the Beach Bunch Association.

Apart from introducing a sustainable lifestyle and to instil awareness in disposing garbage responsibly, this initiative intends to expose the issue of incorrect waste management and to raise awareness of correct waste management practices.

The campaign was joined by Yang Mulia Puan Nur Ezira Mahadi, Deputy High Commissioner at Malaysia High Commission, Yang Mulia Hajah Rosita binti Haji Hassan, In-Country Value Manager of BSP and Chairperson of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei; Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Mohd Jaafar, Progresif’s Chief Executive Officer and Mohamad Faizul Haji Yahya, Corporate Marketing & Communication Lead of Dynamik Technologies.

Also participating in the campaign was officers from the Malaysian High Commission, Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd, Shell LiveWIRE Brunei and Progresif as well as students from Higher Institutions.
