The event opened with a speech by Hjh Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar, the CEO of Progresif, who expressed her profound enthusiasm for the summit. She emphasized the pivotal role of employees as the heartbeat of organizations, echoing the sentiment shared by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. His Majesty’s Titah to mark the 39th National Day mentioned that “national development … is more meaningful than building facilities and systems that give a positive impact on the people, just like the development of human resources to produce people who are progressive, independent, and not solely relying on the government”, a vision that aligns seamlessly with the INITIATE’s principles.
“We firmly believe that our most valuable resource lies in the intellect and dedication of our employees. Just as His Majesty reminded us, true national development extends beyond physical infrastructure to empowering our human resources. This resonates deeply with our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees, as we recognize that their success is intertwined with our company’s success,” stated Hjh Nurul Haniah.
In her opening remarks, the CEO of Progresif extended gratitude to the original founders of INITIATE, Iswandy Ahmad, CEO of Perspective Insan, and Aiman Minorhadi, CEO of Grominda, for their vision and dedication in laying the foundation for the summit. She acknowledged their foresight in fostering a platform that brings together HR professionals to exchange ideas and develop human capital in Brunei.
