Progresif Sdn Bhd marked World Kindness Day and Origami Day on 14 November 2024 with a special event held at the Progresif Banquet Hall, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam. The event brought together 22 children and their families from Yayasan Kanser Kanak Kanak (YASKA) for an afternoon of creativity and cultural exchange.
The celebration of World Kindness Day, observed annually on 13 November, emphasized the power of small acts of kindness in strengthening communities and fostering a supportive environment. It highlighted how even simple gestures of compassion can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to incorporate kindness into their daily lives.
A highlight of the event was a hands-on origami workshop led by Ms. Ozaki Maria, third secretary at the Embassy of Japan. Ms. Ozaki Maria guided the children through the intricate art of paper folding, teaching them not only the creative techniques behind origami but also imparting lessons in patience, focus, and perseverance. The workshop was complemented by a cultural presentation on the history and significance of origami, offering the children a deeper understanding of its cultural roots and its therapeutic benefits.
Quote shared by a representative from the Embassy of Japan, "We are pleased to participate and celebrate the world’s kindness day together with Progresif Sdn Bhd and

In his opening remarks, Hakeem Basri, Progresif’s Chief of Administrative Office, shared "At Progresif, we believe in the power of acts of kindness to foster a more compassionate and inclusive world.
