Under its Enterprise and Corporate Social Responsibility team, Progresif Sdn Bhd has sponsored internet connectivity to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Paediatric Oncology Ward under The Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) in providing Wi-Fi coverage. Progresif has embarked on this initiative to give back to the community they serve, especially at the forefront of Progress for Education. Through the brand’s CSR, the company was able to provide connectivity that enables students to access their education and allowing them to connect virtually with family and friends while they are undergoing treatment.
In a statement made by Progresif’s Senior Enterprise Relationship Manager (Government & Special Projects), Hjh Normah Binti Ahmad, “We know that the increasing usage of virtual communication will allow children and families to maintain virtual relationships. This emphasizes how critical it is for everyone in Brunei, even these patients, to be able to access the Internet and remain connected.”
“For children with cancer, the hospital is their second home as they have to visit the hospital often for their treatment. It is fantastic to have access to Wi-Fi as it can be used to distract our children with online programmes during their procedures or treatment. It is also easy for us to do webbased education for parents and healthcare workers. Getting support from Progresif means a great deal to us, as no child should fight cancer alone.” Added Dr Hjh Norehan Hj Johari, Advisor to YASKA.
