Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Meez Feeq and I’m a producer and rapper.
Tell us how did you start getting into hip-hop music?
I started getting deeper into rap back in 2015. when I was going through a difficult time in life. That was when my cousins introduced me to hip-hop as a form of release and to help channel my emotions into a more productive outlet.
What genre would you classify yourself as?
Hip hop and rap, with a bit of trap and underground hip-hop.
Who have been the major influences on your sound?
My main influences are MF Doom, Big L, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, and J.Cole. I look up to all of them and am constantly inspired by their talent and the work they’ve put into their songs.
What are your upcoming projects and your future plans?
I’m planning on releasing multiple projects. I have an album coming up with my label Polytone, and a few songs with other local rappers so it’s going to get really interesting.
What does the word ‘progressive’ mean to you?
Being progressive means to never stay stagnant. For my music, it means exploring other genres of music by doing lots of experimentation.
