24 August 2021 – Progresif is almost at the end of our year-long partnership with the Ministry of Education in the ‘Progresif for Schools’ initiative that was signed in September last year, but we’re committed in our promise to keep students connected through our Donate Data campaign. What was initially launched to provide students in the ten selected schools with internet connectivity, has now been shifted towards something bigger.
With the current directives from the Ministry of Health for everyone to stay at home, the Ministry of Education has identified a total of 350 students in need. Now that the country is in quarantine, we have made it our mission to keep these students “in school” from the
safety of their homes via online learning.
Since its launch in February, the Donate Data has successfully collected a total of BND10,223.16 – an amount that is enough to cover the SIM cards of the 350 students in need.
We have successfully redirected our donation platforms to serve the purpose of sustaining the accessibility of these students to have access to continue their studies remotely so we would like to invite the public in donating too. With your donations, every BND30 received will be able to provide one student with 10GB of data.
The donation platform, which could only be done via SMS and BIBD Online, is now available through our newly launched webstore and now extends to Baiduri Bank customers via bank transfer.
Progresif subscribers still have the option to donate via SMS, simply by typing DATAEDU1/5/10/15/20/50/100 and sending it to 38222. We hope that you know that each contribution, how little it may be, will ripple and make waves and serve our nation’s youth in broadening their education.
Since opening their doors in 2015, Progresif has staunchly committed itself to advocacy for Education as a core pillar of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). From creating teaching tools for local schools in their Progresif Magazine, to promoting passionate teachers in their ‘Progresif Heroes’ campaigns, and their sponsorship of big school events like the International School Brunei Borneo Global Issues Conference (ISB BGIC), the company has long been committed to corporate stewardship of important social and educational issues.
